Description
MK-677 capsules contain ibutamoren, a small-molecule research compound also known by its development code MK-677 (or MK-0677). Each capsule is labelled 20 mg. Unlike the peptide secretagogues in our range, ibutamoren is not a peptide, which is why it is offered in capsule and liquid formats rather than as a lyophilised vial.

What is ibutamoren?
Ibutamoren was developed by Merck as an orally active compound that mimics the action of ghrelin at the growth hormone secretagogue receptor (GHS-R1a). It has been evaluated in human clinical trials but has not been approved as a medicine by the FDA.
Because it is a small molecule, it is chemically very different from peptide secretagogues such as Ipamorelin, even though both act on the same receptor. This product is sold strictly for laboratory research.

Capsules or liquid?
Ibutamoren is available from Gentleman Peptides as these capsules and as a 30 mL liquid. Capsules provide identical pre-measured units that are easy to count and record. The liquid suits work where material is measured by volume rather than by unit.
Whichever format you choose, check the label for the amount per capsule or the volume of the bottle before use, and record which format was used in each experiment so that results can be compared accurately.
Because ibutamoren is a small molecule, the capsule format suits it well: there is no need for freeze-drying, and each capsule carries the same labelled amount. That makes MK-677 capsules practical for studies that divide material into many identical units, and for comparisons with peptide secretagogues that are supplied as lyophilised vials.
Storage and handling
Keep the container tightly closed in a cool, dry place, away from direct light, heat and humidity. Return the lid immediately after removing capsules and keep the product in its original labelled container so the contents and amount per capsule stay identifiable.
Checking the label
The label on this product states the compound name, the amount (20 mg) and that it is for research use only. When your order arrives, check that the label matches what you ordered, and record the product name, amount and date received in your notes before use. If anything does not match, contact us before opening the product.

MK-677 capsules FAQs
How much ibutamoren is in each capsule?
The label states 20 mg per capsule.
Is MK-677 a peptide?
No. Ibutamoren is a non-peptide small molecule, although it acts on the same receptor as peptide secretagogues such as Ipamorelin.
Are MK-677 capsules for human use?
No. They are sold for laboratory research only and are not intended for human or veterinary use.
What does the code MK-677 mean?
Merck uses “MK” codes for compounds in development. MK-677, also written MK-0677, is the development code for ibutamoren, and both names refer to the same molecule.
For laboratory research use only. Not for human or veterinary use. This product is not approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. See our research use policy.
