What is enclomiphene?

Clomiphene, a long-established medicine, is a mixture of two geometric isomers: enclomiphene (the trans or E isomer) and zuclomiphene (the cis or Z isomer). Enclomiphene has been studied on its own because the two isomers behave differently, and it has been evaluated in clinical trials.

It has not been approved by the FDA as a medicine. This product is sold for laboratory research only.

Why isomer identity matters in research

Because clomiphene is a mixture, studies that aim to look at one isomer need material identified as that isomer. This product is labelled as the trans form rather than as clomiphene. Recording the isomer explicitly in your notes avoids confusion with clomiphene or zuclomiphene in later analysis.

The capsule format gives 60 identical units at a fixed labelled amount, 750 mg in total, which is convenient for studies that count units rather than weigh material.

Enclomiphene and zuclomiphene differ only in the spatial arrangement around one carbon–carbon double bond, yet they behave differently, which illustrates why stereochemistry is recorded so carefully in pharmacology research.

Storage and handling

Keep the container tightly closed in a cool, dry place, away from direct light, heat and humidity. Return the lid immediately after removing capsules and keep the product in its original labelled container so the contents and amount per capsule stay identifiable.

Checking the label

The label on this product states the compound name, the amount (60 capsules) and that it is for research use only. When your order arrives, check that the label matches what you ordered, and record the product name, amount and date received in your notes before use. enclomiphene capsules FAQs

How many enclomiphene capsules are in the container?

The label states 60 capsules at 12.5 mg each.

Is enclomiphene the same as clomiphene?

No. Clomiphene is a mixture of two isomers; enclomiphene is the trans isomer on its own.

Are enclomiphene capsules for human use?

No. They are sold for laboratory research only and are not intended for human or veterinary use.

What is the total amount of enclomiphene in the container?

Sixty capsules at a labelled 12.5 mg each make 750 mg in total. When planning a study, base calculations on the labelled amount per capsule and record the number of capsules used in each experiment.

For laboratory research use only. Not for human or veterinary use. This product is not approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease. See our research use policy.
